Our Mission

UK Women's March is a women’s organisation dedicated to empowering women and girls, championing their autonomy, and creating a community that recognises and defends their rights. We stand in solidarity with women around the world, acknowledging the struggles they face and the strength they demonstrate every day. Our mission is to build a world where all women live in dignity, free from violence, and with full control over their own lives.
Inclusive and Unyielding Solidarity
We believe that every woman, regardless of background, deserves to be respected, valued, and free from harm. Our movement is fully inclusive, and we are committed to supporting the rights of all women, including trans women, who are an integral part of the fight for gender equality. Trans women are not a threat but fellow women in the shared struggle for autonomy, justice, and liberation. Together, we stand united, with unwavering solidarity for all women in their diversity. We are unified in our commitment to justice and equality, and we will not rest until every woman’s rights are secured and defended.
Fighting the Erosion of Rights.
We are deeply concerned by the ongoing erosion of women’s rights, both in the UK and globally. Governments are systematically stripping away reproductive rights and protections against violence. The voices of individuals like Nigel Farage, calling for restrictions on abortion rights in the UK, serve as stark reminders that what happens in one country can have global consequences. Just as we’ve seen dangerous shifts in countries like the US, the UK is not immune. We are committed to protecting and advancing policies that uphold women’s rights, ensuring women’s autonomy is safeguarded at every level of society.
Violence Against Women and Girls: A National Emergency
In the UK, violence against women and girls has now been declared a national emergency. We cannot, and will not, ignore the epidemic of violence that women and girls face daily. This declaration is a stark acknowledgment of the deep-rooted and systemic issues that allow violence to persist, unchecked. We pledge to combat all forms of violence—whether physical, emotional, sexual, financial, or psychological—and will stand against sexual violence, domestic abuse, stalking, and femicide. We will demand stronger laws, better enforcement, and more robust support for survivors. Our collective effort is focused on challenging the systems that perpetuate harm. No woman should ever live in fear of violence, and we will stand firm in opposition to any form of abuse or control.
Giving a Voice to the Silenced.
We recognise that for too long, the voices of many women have been stolen or silenced by oppressive systems, violence, and discrimination. Whether through the denial of their rights, forced silence, or the erasure of their experiences, these women have been left unheard and unseen. It is time for that to change. We are committed to amplifying the voices of those whose stories have been ignored or suppressed. We will fight for justice for women who have been silenced, whether in war zones, in abusive relationships, or within patriarchal societies that deny them their dignity. We stand with those women and work to ensure they have the platform, the support, and the power to speak and be heard.
We will work tirelessly to empower women across the globe, showing them that we stand in solidarity with our sisters everywhere. Together, we will raise our voices to challenge the systems that seek to keep women oppressed. By sharing stories, advocating for policy changes, and creating networks of support, we will show women worldwide that they are not alone, and that together, we can break the silence and take back our voices.
Fighting for Marginalised Women.
We are deeply committed to addressing the unique struggles faced by women from ethnic minority backgrounds and LGBTQIA+ communities. These women often face compounded discrimination, violence, and marginalisation. Our advocacy will continue to push for inclusive policies that lift up all women, recognising the intersectionality of oppression and ensuring that no woman is left behind. We will amplify their voices, advocate for justice, and strive for an equitable world that recognises the full humanity and worth of every woman.
Prioritising Women’s Health.
Women’s health is essential, and we will work tirelessly to close the gender health gap. We will address the unique health challenges that women face, ensuring that women’s health is prioritised, researched, and treated with the care and resources it deserves. No longer will women’s health be neglected or underfunded. We will fight for equitable healthcare, for research that addresses women’s needs, and for urgent action in tackling systemic disparities in health outcomes.
Education: Building a Culture of Respect.
Education is a cornerstone of our movement. We believe in teaching the next generation about sexual consent, healthy boundaries, and recognising red flags in relationships. By integrating these essential lessons into the curriculum, we aim to equip young people with the knowledge and tools to build a culture of respect, safety, and equality. We are creating a foundation for future generations to grow up in a world where mutual respect and empathy shape every interaction.
Closing the Gender Pay Gap.
We are committed to closing the gender pay gap and advocating for fair pay and equal opportunities for all women, including trans women. We will fight for equality in the workplace, ensuring that women have access to job opportunities, career advancement, and protection from discrimination. A just world cannot be built when women continue to face economic disparities, and we are steadfast in our pursuit of a level playing field for all women.
Grassroots Action for Real Change.
Real, lasting change begins at the grassroots level. We support grassroots projects that make tangible, positive differences in the lives of women and girls. Through marches, protests, and other forms of activism, we will continue to ensure that every woman has a voice and a platform for her story. But we will do more than just march. We will organise, we will demonstrate, and we will demand concrete action from lawmakers, leaders, and institutions. We will hold the powerful accountable, fight for systemic change, and amplify the voices of women who have been ignored for far too long. We are committed to creating lasting, structural change that makes a tangible difference in the lives of women everywhere.
Empowering Allies.
We welcome male allies to join us in our mission. We recognise that historically, men have held more power, which has often meant that their voices have been more easily heard. This dynamic has contributed to the silencing of women, but we believe in the power of solidarity. With the support of male allies, we can build a more inclusive, respectful, and equitable society for all women and girls. Together, we will work towards a world where equality is not just a dream but a lived reality.
A Vision for a Just, Equal, and Compassionate World.
Together, we will fight to create a just, equitable, and compassionate world where every woman has the right to live free from violence, control her own life, and have her rights fully respected and protected. We will not stop until these fundamental freedoms are secured for all women and girls, regardless of their race, background, or identity.
This is our call to action, our unwavering commitment, and our manifesto for the future we are building: a future where every woman is free, empowered, and equal. We are unified in our fight for justice, and we will not stop until every woman can live her life in safety, dignity, and equality
